Fire at refueling station in Habiganj, 10 cars burnt to ashes

A terrible fire broke out at a CNG refueling station in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj. Nine CNG-powered autorickshaws and a bus were burnt before the fire was brought under control. The incident took place at Aushkandi on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in the early hours of Thursday (August 21). The fire service said that a bus from Habiganj to Sylhet was filling up at the station. At that time, a sudden explosion occurred. The fire spread from the bus to nine CNG-powered autorickshaws nearby. On receiving the information, three units of the fire service from Nabiganj, Bahubal and Osmaninagar reached the spot and brought the fire under control in an hour. However, as the main stock of the gas pump did not catch fire, there were no casualties and the pump itself was spared from the horror.
