Fast to death in Berobi: Abu Saeed’s 2 brothers go to education advisor

The memory of martyr Abu Saeed is trembling in the premises of Begum Rokeya University (Berob) in Rangpur. The two brothers of Shaheed Abu Saeed could not bear this sight of their brother’s comrades-in-arms going on a fast to death day and night. As tensions are rising among the students over the Berobi student council elections, they met education advisor Professor Dr. C. R. Abrar on Monday (August 19) to get assurances of a quick solution. During the discussion, the advisor told them that instructions will be given to the University Grants Commission (UGC) to organize the elections very soon. Then Abu Saeed’s brothers appealed to the students on hunger strike. Shaheed Abu Saeed’s elder brother Ramzan Ali wrote in his Facebook post, “I appeal to my younger brother Shaheed Abu Saeed’s comrades-in-arms who are on a fast to death at Begum Rokeya University over the student council. You should stand up now.” Seeing your suffering like this, we could not sit still. So we two brothers came to the education advisor to solve this. He assured us that he has instructed the UGC to solve the problem as soon as possible. So we appeal to you to come up and the student council elections will be held at Begum Rokeya University as soon as possible, InshaAllah. Earlier, on Sunday (August 17) at around 11 am, 10 students from different departments of the university sat on a hunger strike at the north gate of the university’s administrative building.
