Allegations of beating a doctor in Chittagong for not receiving extortion money

A doctor has been accused of being beaten up for not receiving bribe in Chittagong. The incident took place in the Baklia area of the city on Tuesday (August 12) afternoon. The victim, Dr. Iqbal, went live on social media and alleged that some local BNP leaders beat him up for not receiving bribe. To save his life, he took refuge in a neighbor’s house. Later, he was admitted to Chittagong Medical College. In the 36-second video, the doctor can be heard saying, “I am Dr. Iqbal. I am in the old fourth floor in Baklia. I am…BNP’s Harun; they are beating me because I did not give money to those terrorists, they are looking for me to kill me.” However, the police said that there is no political involvement in the incident. The fight occurred due to a dispute between two families over the construction of the building. The doctor was injured in this. Meanwhile, the locals also have various complaints against the victim doctor. The locals have also formed a human chain against him at various times.
