7 people arrested so far in Gazipur journalist Tuhin murder case
A total of 7 people have been arrested by the police and RAB in the case of the public hacking and throat slitting of Daily Pratidin newspaper correspondent Md. Asaduzzaman Tuhin in Gazipur. The Gazipur Metropolitan Police confirmed their arrests on Friday (August 8) night. Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Deputy Commissioner Rabiul Hasan said that 5 people directly involved in the murder have been arrested. They are: Faisal alias Ketu Mizan, his wife Golap Begum, Swadhin, Al Amin and Sumon. Three people including Faisal were arrested from Bhabanipur area of Gazipur Sadar Upazila, Al Amin from Turag area of Uttara in the capital and Swadhin from Hotapara area. Later, two other accused in the case were also arrested. Md., a resident and tenant of Pachbaria area of Pabna. Faisal Hasan (23) and Md. Shah Jalal (32), a resident of Homna police station in Comilla, were arrested by law enforcement from Gafargaon police station in Mymensingh. Gazipur Metropolitan Police said that preliminary evidence has been found that all those arrested were involved in the murder. RAB-1 Company Commander SP K.M.A. Mamun Khan Chishti will brief the CPSC at Porabari Camp in Gazipur at 11 am on Saturday (August 9) to provide detailed information on this matter.
