“University Activation Program 2025” held by IDEA Project at UITS

With the aim of developing an entrepreneurial culture, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Academy Establishment Project (IDEA) implemented under the Bangladesh Computer Council under the Information and Communication Technology Department of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), an information technology and science-based private university established in Bangladesh, was held at the Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Multipurpose Hall of the university’s own campus adjacent to the Diplomatic Zone in Baridhara, Dhaka, on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 10:00 am. The program was presented by Mr. Eni Chowdhury, Lecturer of the IT Department.

The program began with the recitation of the Quran. Three separate sessions were held in this day-long event. Dipta Saha, Co-Founder and Senior Operations Officer, Agroshift Technologies Limited successfully conducted the Entrepreneurship Masterclass session. Two sessions on Pitch Deck Creation Techniques and How to Apply for Idea Pre-Seed Grant were conducted by Mr. Siddharth Goswami, Senior Consultant, Idea Project. Young entrepreneurs and innovators from University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) participated in the mentioned sessions. Through the program, they got practical ideas about the startup ecosystem, necessary skill development training and networking opportunities. They presented their own startup ideas through pitching sessions. The judges of the pitching session of the students were Mr. Siddharth Goswami, Senior Consultant of the Idea Project, Mr. Murtuza Julkar Nain Noman, Joint Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Department and Project Director of the Idea Project, and Engineer Rajib Majumder, Research and Innovation Specialist of the Idea Project.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hasan Bhuiyan, was present as the chief guest at the event. The welcome address was given by the Head of the IT Department of the University, Sadia Jahan, and the Director of IQAC of the University, Md. Shafayet Hossain. The closing speech was given by the Joint Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Department and Project Director of the Idea Project, Mr. Murtuza Julkar Nain Noman. The guest of honor of the event was Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University. In addition, the Registrar of the University, Mr. Md. Kamrul Islam, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Mr. Al Imtiaz and all the teachers of the IT Department. The teachers and students of the IT Department were under the overall supervision of the program. At the end of the program, our honorable guests handed over certificates to the students who participated in this event.
