11 establishments robbed in one night in Bauphal

A total of 11 establishments were robbed in one night in Chayhisya Bazar of Nazirpur Union in Bauphal Upazila of Patuakhali. The incident took place on Saturday (August 2) night. According to local sources, a group of thieves entered various shops and homes in the market at night and looted cash, goods and goods. The stolen establishments include Asadul Talukder’s mill and fertilizer-pesticide shop, Salauddin Mridha’s grocery and beauty shop, Malek Mridha’s grocery shop, Zakir Doctor’s pharmacy, Ganesh Das’s grocery shop, Abdur Rahman’s hardware shop, Abdur Rahim’s cement shop, Forkan Talukder’s Bikash shop, Halim Hawlader’s homestead and two grocery-beauty and tea shops in the area at the head of Taterkathi Road. Local traders said that the theft of so many shops at once has created panic in the area. They demanded the immediate identification and arrest of the thieves. Asadul Islam, a trader at the market, said that recently drugs have been found in the union. Drug addicts may be involved in this. In this regard, Baufal Police Station Officer-in-Charge Akhtaruzzaman Sarkar said that a police team has been dispatched to inspect the scene. A quick investigation will be conducted and legal action will be taken.
