Attack on Fakhrul’s brother’s car: 2 BNP leaders expelled
Two leaders of the party have been expelled for the attack on Mirza Faisal Amin, brother of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and vandalism of his car in Baliadangi, Thakurgaon. The matter was announced in a press release signed by the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on the party’s verified Facebook page at 8 pm on Tuesday (July 29). The expelled are: Former President of Baliadangi Upazila BNP Advocate Syed Alam and former General Secretary Dr. TM Mahbubur Rahman. The victim of the attack is Mirza Faisal Amin, General Secretary of the District BNP. The press release said that on July 12, clashes and clashes took place around the council session of Baliadangi Upazila BNP. Former acting president of Baliadangi Upazila BNP under Thakurgaon district, Adv. Md. Syed Alam and former general secretary candidate Dr. T. M. Mahbubur Rahman have been expelled from all levels of posts, including primary membership, for their involvement in such violent and indecent behavior. Earlier, on July 12, on the day of the Baliadangi Upazila BNP conference, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s brother, district BNP general secretary and former mayor Mirza Faisal Amin, was attacked while returning home after the results were announced at Samiuddin Smriti College ground. At that time, the miscreants also vandalized the vehicle carrying him. The next day, on the afternoon of July 13, Thakurgaon district BNP joint general secretary Paygam Ali held a press conference and suspended the results. On the same day, the district BNP called a district BNP meeting and sent the two leaders involved in the incident to the center for recommendation to be expelled. In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baliadangi Police Station Shawkat Ali Sarkar said that no party has filed a complaint with the police station regarding the violence and clash that took place around the conference on July 12.
