Sutar Mannan killed in clash between two groups in Munshiganj

A young man named Sutar Mannan was killed in a clash and gunfire between two groups over the dominance of Balumahal on the Meghna River in Gazaria, Munshiganj. Four people were injured during the incident. The incident took place in the Kalapura area of the upazila on Monday (July 28). Anwar Alam Azad, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gazaria Police Station, said that the Nayan Pias Group had been in a dispute with Lalu Bahini for some time over the extortion of sand. Abdul Mannan alias Sutar Mannan and Hridoy Bagh used to lead Lalu Bahini. A clash and gunfire broke out between the two groups on Monday morning over this. Sutar Mannan was killed in this. Police said that on July 16, three people were arrested while trying to collect extortion in Balumahal. In this incident, Balumahal cashier Jannat Hossain filed a case with Gazaria Police Station, naming Hridoy Bagh of Hoglakandi village as the number one accused. After that, Hridoy Bagh went into hiding, but on the night of July 17, he returned to the area and rehearsed with Shooter Mannan and his followers. Cocktail explosions and shooting incidents also occurred. This happened due to these incidents.
