Pilot Taukir to be buried in Rajshahi

He had a dream of flying in the sky like a bird. He was far ahead on the path to fulfilling that desire to touch the clouds on the wings of an airplane. After successfully completing his pilot training, Taukir Islam started touching the sky as a flight lieutenant of the Air Force. But suddenly his running stopped – forever. This young pilot will be buried in Rajshahi. Relatives, friends and neighbors started flocking to Taukir’s rented house in Rajshahi since Tuesday (July 22) morning. Taukir’s grandfather Azizur Rahman said, “His first funeral is scheduled to be held at Dhaka Cantonment between 11 am and 12 noon.” The body will then be brought to Rajshahi and buried at the Sapura cemetery in the city after the second namaz-e-janaza at the Sapura Eidgah ground.’ Earlier, on Monday (July 21), Flight Lieutenant Taukir Islam died when an Air Force training aircraft crashed in the Milestone School and College area of Uttara in the capital. The news of his death brought grief to the shelter home in Sector 3 of the Rajshahi suburb. Taukir’s parents and family members reached Dhaka under special arrangements from the Air Force after hearing the news of the accident. The news of Taukir’s death was confirmed there after evening. From then on, the tears and grief began. Not only one family but the entire Rajshahi is mourning Taukir’s death. His friends and classmates have expressed their condolences on social media and prayed for the forgiveness of his soul. Various social and cultural organizations are organizing prayers.
