Country cannot progress without humanity: Army Chief

The country cannot progress without humanity, Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has said. He made these remarks at the closing ceremony of the third international conference on ‘Mechanical Engineering and Applied Science’ at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in Mirpur Cantonment on Saturday (July 19). The Army Chief said, ‘One has to be not just a good engineer, but a good human being. Only then will the country benefit.’ He stressed on discipline and human values to move the country forward by facing global challenges. Waqar-uz-Zaman said, ‘If discipline is followed, the country will benefit. The importance of engineering education for development is immense.’ The three-day conference discussed various topics including artificial intelligence, renewable energy, production techniques, thermal engineering and space research. Renowned researchers and professionals from various countries including the US, UK, Canada, China, Japan and Bangladesh participated in it.
