Thief who raped Chakaria policeman’s wife arrested

Police have arrested Md. Abul Kalam Prakash Parvez (50), who raped a police constable’s wife while stealing in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar. After the rape, the police conducted a raid on Wednesday (July 16) and arrested him along with several other accused. He was arrested and sent to court in a theft case. Later, after getting his mobile call list and seeing the victim’s picture, Abul Kalam Parvez was identified as the rapist. Chakaria Police Station OC Md. Shafiqul Islam confirmed this information. Abul Kalam is the son of Meher Ali of Moghbazar Khamar Para, Naswar Ward 6 of Chakaria Municipality. He currently lived in a rented house in Yangsa area of Lamar. He has multiple cases against him, including robbery, police assault, and theft. To avoid arrest due to these cases, he married multiple times and rented houses in different areas of Chakaria and Lamar. OC Md. Shafiqul Islam said that on Monday (July 15) at around 3 am, a masked man entered the ground floor of a rented house in Ward No. 3 of Chakaria Municipality by inserting bamboo through the window and opening the door hook. He then entered the door and raped the wife of a police constable by threatening her with a knife. He fled with the victim’s mobile phone and cash. The police constable’s wife lived in the rented house with her two children. Her husband was in Cox’s Bazar for work. The victim’s husband, a police constable, filed a case with Chakaria Police Station as the plaintiff in this incident.
