BNP files disappearance complaint against Hasina, 16 others at tribunal
BNP has filed a disappearance complaint against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Law Minister Anisul Haque and former I GP Benazir Ahmed and 16 others at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Bangladesh. BNP Central Committee Executive Member and Information Cell Coordinator Salahuddin Khan submitted the complaint to the Chief Prosecutor along with the victims on Sunday (July 13) afternoon. It alleges that 16 people who were in the top positions of the government at that time, including then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, were involved in 11 disappearances organized from 2019 until the fall of the Awami League government. The victims said that they were subjected to brutal torture during the previous government for the crime of being BNP. At that time, Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam assured that appropriate legal action would be taken after the investigation.
