National Consensus Commission is not imposing anything: Ali Riaz
The National Consensus Commission is trying to build consensus by giving importance to the voices and aspirations of political parties in state reforms, said the vice-chairman of the commission, Dr. Ali Riaz. He said these things at the beginning of the 10th day of the second phase of the talks between the political parties and the National Consensus Commission at the Foreign Service Academy in the morning. Ali Riaz said that progress has already been made on some issues, discussions are ongoing on some issues. Most parties disagree on the formation of the NCC. The National Consensus Commission is not imposing anything. Professor Ali Riaz said that everyone is trying to build consensus. At the same time, he called on the political parties to sit in more discussions and reach a consensus quickly. The agenda of today’s meeting includes the expansion of subordinate courts at the upazila level, declaration of a state of emergency, and women’s representation.
