Students arrested the teacher and handed him over to the police.
Teacher Md. Sobhan, a member of the Cyber Security Committee formed to take action against students in the anti-discrimination student movement in Lakshmipur, has been detained.
On Tuesday night, students caught him in front of the Lakshmipur Press Club and handed him over to the police.
Sobhan is working as an instructor (temporary) in the Electronics Department of Lakshmipur Polytechnic Institute. He is known to be pro-Awami.
It is known that on July 29, the acting principal of the Polytechnic Institute, Zahirul Islam, formed a 7-member convening committee to take action against students involved in the July anti-discrimination student movement. It was named the Cyber Security Committee. Md. Sobhan was a member of it. After the fall of the government on August 5, he went into hiding. He was suddenly seen in Lakshmipur. The students caught him and handed him over to the police.
Lakshmipur Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Monnaf said, “Students have handed over a person named Sobhan to the police. He is under arrest. Legal action will be taken after investigating the incident.”
Incidentally, on July 29, a cyber security committee was formed with teachers to take immediate action after the Polytechnic Institute’s website, Facebook page and students’ Facebook groups/pages were monitored and provocative posts were made.
