No one’s body should remain unclaimed: Chief Advisor
The chief advisor to the interim government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, said, “We are creating a society where Anjuman Mofidul Islam no longer exists. This is our goal. No body should remain unclaimed.”
He said this after inaugurating Anjuman Mofidul Islam’s new building, ‘Anjuman JR Tower’, in Kakrail, the capital, on Monday.
The chief advisor said, “We can protect everyone from being unclaimed, so that their bodies can be with their relatives and friends. They can be buried with dignity. This will not disrupt the activities of Anjuman Mofidul Islam. Rather, we will honor them for highlighting these things.”
Describing Anjuman Mufidul Islam as a unique organization, Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, “The organization has been working to bury unclaimed bodies and provide services for a long time. I consider it a privilege to be present at Anjuman Mufidul. I have been hearing the name of this organization since childhood. It is a strange name, I did not know any explanation for this name – one thing is associated with it, I only know “unclaimed corpses”.
He said, “I never knew who they (Anjuman Mufidul Islam) were, today I saw it with my own eyes. They come from such a world, if a body is lying there, they pick it up. It is a dreamlike thing. No matter how remote, no matter how difficult the situation, that name comes Anjuman Mufidul Islam. It seemed very surprising to me.”
The chief advisor said, “Whose identity is not known, but news is coming every day. Now I know that they are all over the country. I have never seen any of their statements in any newspaper.”
Among others present at the time were Finance Ministry Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Advisor to the Ministry of Food and Land Ali Imam Majumder, President of Anjuman Mufidul Mufleh R Osmani and Vice President Golam Rahman.
