Road blockade to protest closure of Magura Medical College

A press conference human chain and road blockade program have been held to protest the conspiracy to close Magura Government Medical College and demand the establishment of a permanent campus soon. This program was held under the banner of the people and students of Magura from all walks of life on Sunday afternoon.

A press conference was held at the Magura Press Club auditorium at 11 am today. The speakers were – District Jamaat Ameer MB Baker, District BNP Joint Convener Aminur Rahman Khan Pikul, Mohammad Alamgir Hossain, District Bar Association General Secretary Advocate Shahed Hasan Tagor, Magura Press Club President Professor Saidur Rahman, Convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Engineer Selim Hossain, Member Secretary Mohammad Hussain, Magura Medical Intern Doctor Deepto Dev, and final year student of the Medical College Naimul Hossain.

After the press conference, a protest procession from in front of the Magura Press Club went to Bhayna intersection and formed a human chain. Local people and students blocked the highway symbolically for 30 minutes to protect Magura Medical College.

The human chain stated that a permanent campus of Magura Medical College should be constructed quickly to create a proper educational environment.
