Hamas hands over bodies of 4 Israeli hostages, 600 Palestinians has been released

Hamas has handed over the bodies of four Israeli hostages. Israeli authorities confirmed the handover, saying it took place early Thursday morning local time. The Palestinians handed over the bodies of the four hostages shortly after Israel released 600 Palestinian prisoners.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said they had received the coffins containing the bodies of the four hostages. The process of officially identifying their bodies has begun.

On the other hand, AFP journalists in Ramallah reported that a group of more than 600 Palestinian prisoners were seen getting off a bus. It is believed that the prisoners were supposed to be released last week. But Israel had postponed their release due to “disrespectful treatment” of the hostages.

More than 600 Palestinian prisoners were brought to Ramallah by bus early Thursday morning local time. After their release, Palestinians were seen celebrating uncontrollably. They hugged their relatives. Many of them were hugging and kissing friends or relatives. Some were also giving interviews to various media outlets. At this time, a number of women were seen crying with joy.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the four hostages that Hamas handed over to Israel are Ohad Yahalomi, Sachi Idan, Itzik Elgarat and Solomon Mansour. Israeli media confirmed their identities.

Incidentally, Hamas released six Israeli hostages last Saturday as part of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. The bodies of the four hostages were also handed over with them. In exchange, Israel was supposed to release 620 Palestinian prisoners. But Israel suspended the release of the prisoners, accusing Hamas of “disrespectful treatment” of the hostages during the release. At that time, Hamas strongly protested and proposed that if the Palestinian prisoners were released first, Hamas would negotiate with Israel through mediators about the next steps in the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
