    4 DIGs on compulsory retirement

    Four DIGs of the police have been sent on compulsory retirement this time. This information was given in a notification signed by Senior Secretary of Police Branch-1 of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday, on the orders of the President.

    Those who have been sent on compulsory retirement are – DIG of Naval Police Md. Abdul Quddus Amin, DIG of Anti-Terrorism Unit Md. Nisharul Arif, DIG of Highway Police Md. Azad Mia and DIG Amena Begum.

    The notification said that BCS (Police) cadre member Md. Abdul Quddus Amin (BP-7198010052), DIG, Naval Police, attached to Dhaka, has been granted retirement from government service in the public interest as per the provisions of Section 45 of the Government Services Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). He will be entitled to retirement benefits as per the rules.

    On the other hand, DIG of Anti-Terrorism Unit Md. Nisharul Arif, Highway Police DIG Md. Azad Mia and DIG Amena Begum have been retired from government service in the public interest as per the provisions of Section 45. All of them will be entitled to retirement benefits as per the rules.

    The notification also said that this order issued in the public interest will come into effect immediately.

    Earlier, 22 officials including three secretaries who served in the last three controversial parliamentary elections were given compulsory retirement. A separate notification was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday.
