Sheikh Helal’s PS Murad arrested at airport while fleeing

Former Awami League MP Sheikh Helal Uddin’s personal assistant (PS) Hossain Muhammad Murad alias Sohel Murad has been arrested. He was arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday night.

Airport sources said that Sohel Murad tried to flee the country. He was arrested while checking in after buying a plane ticket. Later, the airport’s law enforcement officers handed him over to the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) Police.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Police Commissioner (DB) Rezaul Karim confirmed the matter. He said that further legal action is under process regarding Murad.

A source says that Murad was Sheikh Helal’s cashier. Murad became the owner of thousands of crores of taka by using Sheikh Helal’s power. Gulshan businessmen used to be afraid of him. Murad became the owner of huge wealth through tender bidding and commission trading.

Investigations have revealed that Sohel Murad provided a huge amount of money to kill students during the student movement against discrimination.
