Dhanmondi 32 demolished with bulldozer.

Cranes and excavators have been brought to demolish Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s house at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital. Before that, the house was first vandalized and then set on fire.

The house was set on fire at around 8:45 pm on Wednesday. The fire is still burning there even after midnight.

Announcing the ‘March to Dhanmondi 32’ program, the agitating students and public gathered at Dhanmondi 32 around 8 pm on Wednesday, chanting various slogans. They gathered there and at one point during the vandalism, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s house was set on fire.

Then, at 10:55 pm, a bulldozer was brought in and at 11:10 am, the demolition of the house began. And at 11:35 pm, an excavator was brought in.

The students decided to gather at house number 32 to protest the announcement of a speech by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was ousted in a coup, joining the banned organization Chhatra League’s virtual event.
