Passengers will be able to travel to their destination by bus with a train ticket
Due to the strike of the running staff of Bangladesh Railway, train services have been suspended across the country since midnight on Monday. In this context, Bangladesh Railway has arranged BRTC buses to transport passengers on important rail routes as an alternative to the railway.
This information was given in an urgent message sent by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Railways, Rezaul Karim Siddiqui, through the media at around 9:15 am today, Tuesday.
The message said that due to the strike of the running staff of Bangladesh Railway, rail communication is being disrupted across the country from today, January 28. In this context, BRTC bus service has been launched to transport passengers on important rail routes as an alternative to the railway.
Passengers going to Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Khulna, Comilla, Bogra and Mymensingh from Dhaka Railway Station and Airport Railway Station can travel through BRTC bus service with the train tickets they have purchased. At the same time, they can also come to Dhaka from the mentioned places via BRTC buses.
The message also mentioned that this BRTC bus service will remain operational until further instructions are given.
As per the previous announcement, the railway running staff are observing a strike across the country. And this has stopped train services across the country.
The Railway Running Staff and Workers Union held a press conference on January 22 and set a condition to accept their demands by January 27. They announced that they would stop train services from January 28 if their demands were not met.
