    No tension on the border.

There is no tension on the India-Bangladesh border now and the situation is fairly normal, said Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. He said, “They (BSF) are no longer building barbed wire fences, the situation is stable. We have said that there is a meeting at the DG level of BGB and BSF next month, where these issues will be discussed.”

Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said these things in response to questions from journalists at the Shaheed Shahabuddin Auditorium of Mymensingh City Corporation yesterday afternoon. A view-exchange meeting was organized with divisional-level officials there.

Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that various problems of the area, especially law and order and agriculture, were discussed in the view-exchange meeting with various divisional-level officials. How to solve these problems was also discussed. Apart from this, other issues were also discussed. Other advisors will be informed about these matters.

In response to journalists’ questions about the fertilizer crisis during the Boro season, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, “There is no fertilizer crisis. If anyone tries to create an artificial fertilizer crisis, I will ask the law enforcement agencies and the divisional administration to take appropriate action against them. The dealers who are involved in these things will also have their dealerships closed from next month. They will not be given any concessions under any circumstances. I want to assure the farmers that they are the lifeblood of the country, they will definitely get fertilizer and they will get it at a fair price.”

Thanking the journalists, the advisor said, “Foreign media used to give a lot of contradictory news. But since you have revealed the truth, foreign media is not able to spread misinformation.
