Fake doctor arrested again at DMCH Hospital.
A fake female doctor named Dalia Akhter Samia (32) has been arrested at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. At that time, the woman had a doctor’s apron and a stethoscope hanging from her neck. A case has been filed against her at Shahbagh Police Station in this incident. The police sent her to court today in this case.
She was arrested from the DMCH burn unit at 11 am today and handed over to the police by the burn unit authorities.
Confirming the truth of the incident, Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mahmudul Hasan said, “The authorities concerned informed us that a woman named Samia was arrested in the burn unit while wearing an apron. The arrested woman was accused of defrauding by falsely identifying herself. A case has been filed against Samia at the police station in this incident. She has been sent to court today.”
He also said that during initial interrogation, Samia admitted that she was not a doctor, but had come with a patient and introduced herself as a doctor to the burn unit doctor. However, more details about Samia will be known after the investigation. Arrested Samia’s home is in Turag area. ’
Md. Arman, a resident of Jinjira in Keraniganj who came to receive treatment at the burn unit, said, ‘A few years ago, I injured my leg while walking in Cox’s Bazar. Later, I have been receiving treatment at the burn unit for a long time. Samia is the sister of a cousin of mine who is a Saudi expatriate. She helped me during my treatment while I was admitted to the burn unit. This morning, I came to the burn unit for follow-up treatment. I informed this lady before coming. Later, I took her to the doctor.’
He also said, ‘I did not notice whether she gave a false identity there. I do not know much about education. The doctor there spoke to her in English. Later, at one point, the doctor called the Ansars on duty there and handed Samia over to them. At that time, the doctor said, “Samia introduced herself as a doctor instead of being a doctor. She is a fraud.” ’
Dr., Associate Professor of the Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Nasir Uddin said, “A young woman wearing an apron and a stethoscope around her neck has been arrested. However, she refused to say anything even though she introduced herself as a doctor. It was not possible to extract any information from her. However, her behavior suggests that she is a professional fraudster. She has been handed over to the law. Legal action will be taken against her.”
