Bangladesh is not buying tanks from Turkey, Indian media is lying.

Indian media ‘India Today’ recently published a report titled ‘After deploying drones on Indian border, why does Bangladesh want to buy Turkish tanks?’ The information in this report has been claimed to be fake by the press wing of the Chief Advisor (CA) of the interim government.

In a statement posted on their fact-checking verified Facebook page CA Press Wing Facts, the CA Press Wing said, ‘A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense has confirmed that Bangladesh has not taken any decision to buy Turkish tanks. The spokesperson said, “Such news is completely baseless and absurd. Our country reserves the right to acquire capabilities for self-defense.”

Earlier, on January 10, India Today published a report titled ‘After deploying drones on Indian border, why does Bangladesh want to buy Turkish tanks?’ It said that after the deployment of Turkish surveillance drones, Bayraktars near the Indian border, Bangladesh has reportedly decided to buy 26 Turkish Tulpar light tanks.
