Thousands of Syrian refugees are returning home from Turkey.

Millions of refugees have fled war-torn Syria and taken refuge in neighboring Turkey. According to international organizations, this number is about 3 million. But Syrian refugees have started going back home from Turkey after the fall of the Syrian Bashar al-Assad government. This information is known from a report by the US media Voice of America.

Since the beginning of the Syrian civil war in 2011, about 3 million refugees have been accommodated by Turkey. However, there has recently been some hope for the potential return home of Syrian refugees in Turkey and elsewhere with the fall of Assad.

Turkey’s interior minister reportedly said on Friday that about 31,000 Syrians had returned to their country since the fall of Assad.

A UN health official said on Friday that about 50 tons of medical supplies funded by Europe have been sent to Turkey by plane, which will reach Syria via Dubai on December 31. Their goal is to support the health services that have collapsed under Assad.
