A terrible fire has broken out in Building No. 7 of the Secretariat, the heart of the administration located in Segunbagicha in the capital. It is reported that this building houses the offices of several important ministries.
It is feared that all the important documents of these ministries will be burnt as the fire that broke out at midnight will burn till morning.
Meanwhile, information from the ministry’s website says that Building No. 7 of the Secretariat houses the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Ministry of Local Government, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives, Ministry of Labor and Employment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges.
According to fire service sources, fire service personnel reached the spot after receiving the news of the fire at 1:54 am on Wednesday. Initially, eight units worked to control the fire, but later it was increased to 18.
Meanwhile, the entire Secretariat area is covered in smoke from the fire. Along with the fire service, members of the army, police, 2 platoons of Border Guard Battalion (BGB) and Armed Police Battalion (APBN) are present at the scene.
