High-level goodwill meeting between Bangladesh and India’s armies.
A courtesy call was exchanged between the high-ranking officers of the Bangladesh and Indian Armies on the Great Victory Day of Bangladesh. The meeting took place at the Akhaura-Agartala Integrated Checkpost on Monday as a token of exemplary friendship bondage between the forces of the two countries.
This was announced by the Inter-Services Public Relations in a press release yesterday. The function was attended by Major General Abul Hasnat Mohammad Tariq, GOC and Area Commander of the 33 Infantry Division of Comilla, Bangladesh Army, and Major General Sumit Rana, Chief of Staff and 101 Area, Indian Army.
The ISPR said in the meeting, the army officers of both countries remembered the independence of Bangladesh achieved through a bloody struggle, the long-standing friendship and harmony between the two countries on the bond of blood. Both sides reiterated their view that this relationship is founded on the spirit of justice, freedom and equality.
The Bangladesh team included three staff officers and a captain-level BGB officer, while three officers and a captain-level BSF officer represented the Indian Army. Representatives of both countries exchanged sweets and gifts during the courtesy call, the ISPR said.
