Random shooting at a school in the United States, 3 people were killed.
A student opened fire at a private Christian school in the US state of Wisconsin, injuring six people and killing a teacher and teenaged student. Later, the attacker was shot dead by police. At least 7 others were injured in the incident.
According to BBC sources, the attack took place at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison on Monday afternoon. Two of the victims were teenagers.
Madison Police Chief Sean Burns said, “It is believed that the gunman is among the dead. Police immediately went to the scene and closed off the road around the school.”
A Madison police statement said that an investigation is ongoing. New information will be released as it becomes available.
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers issued a statement saying, “We are praying for the students, teachers and everyone involved with Abundant Life School. We are awaiting further information and are grateful to the first responders who are working to bring the situation under control.”.
Abundant Life Christian School is a secular institution with about 390 students from kindergarten to high school, according to their website.
