‘Chhatra League will return in a terrifying form’ on the screen at the railway station.
The digital billboard at the railway station was suddenly scrolling, “Chhatra League will return in a dangerous form.” The incident took place at the Khulna railway station on Saturday night. A person named Md. Aslam Hossain alias Sentu has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident and handed over to the police.
The students also alleged that on Saturday evening, a scrolling of the digital billboard at the Khulna railway station was running: “Chhatra League will return in a dangerous form, Joy Bangla Joy Bangabandhu, Sheikh Hasina will come again.” Seeing this, local students took position at the Khulna railway station. As tension broke out, Khulna Metropolitan BNP leaders-activists and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement leaders-activists came to control the situation.
Khulna Metropolitan BNP member secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin, joint convener Chowdhury Shafiqul Islam Hossain, Sadar Thana BNP general secretary Molla Farid Ahmed and other BNP leaders and activists were also present there.
Representatives of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Sajedul Islam Bappi, Md. Nazmul Hossain Imran, Sumaiya Banna and Rumi Rahman, were present with the students.
Khulna Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin said, ‘After the video of the incident went viral, the leaders and activists of the Metropolitan BNP and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement besieged the railway station. We have handed over the person who did this to the police.’
Khulna Railway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ferdous Alam Khan said, ‘In the evening, we got a message that a bad text was coming on the digital scrolling. After seeing it, the railway authorities stopped it. We got a video in this regard and talked to the railway authorities. We came to know that a person named Aslam Hossain alias Sentu was controlling it, the local people and the railway station authorities detained him. We came here and took him into custody. The culprits will be identified under investigation, and legal actions will be taken against them.’
