Khaleda Zia is participating in a rally after seven years.
BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will join the Freedom Fighters’ Rally on December 21, after nearly seven years, on the eve of the great Victory Day.
The rally is being arranged by the Muktijoddha Dal at the China Friendship Conference Center in the capital. The chief guest will be Begum Khaleda Zia and she will present a speech. For the first time, the BNP Chairperson is going to attend a rally since 2017.
According to party sources, Standing Committee Member Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and Muktijoddha Dal President Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat met BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her residence in Gulshan on Saturday. They invited Khaleda Zia to participate in the rally as the chief guest. She initially agreed to be in the rally. Besides, the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir met Khaleda Zia at night.
Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP media cell, said, “If Allah keeps Madam physically healthy, she can go to the rally.”
Sources in the BNP media cell said that Khaleda Zia addressed a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on November 12, 2017, on the occasion of Revolution and Solidarity Day. And on February 8, 2018, before going to jail in an ACC case, she held a press conference at her Gulshan office on February 6.
