Awami League has repeated the actions of the Hanadar Bahini: Shafiqul Alam.
Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said, “The interim government has taken shelter in the ideal and dream of building a country of martyred intellectuals. Awami League has repeated the repression of 1971 Hanadar Bahini within 24 hours.”
He gave these remarks after paying respect at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur on Saturday.
He said, ‘The way the Pakistani Hanadar Bahini and their allies took away the martyred intellectuals in 1971 is the same repetition, but we have seen it in July. You have seen how they took away our top student leaders.’
Shafiqul Alam said, “The new Bangladesh that we dream of, the new Bangladesh which Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus is going ahead with the pledge to build, was the continuation of the martyred intellectuals’ dream; we go forward in the light of that. His whole team, Dr. Yunus’s, holds the ideal of martyred intellectuals.
Law Advisor Professor Asif Nazrul said after paying tributes to the best sons of the nation at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial, “The mass uprising of 24 is a continuation of the sacrifice of intellectuals. The second opportunity to build the country cannot be missed.”
Law Advisor said, ‘The freedom fighters jumped into the struggle with love for the country. The mass uprising of July is a continuation of that. In this mass uprising, I saw students giving up their lives to establish democracy, human rights, and a society without discrimination. Today, coming to this Martyred Intellectuals Memorial, I remember their words.’
