No concessions will be made on border tensions: Home Affairs Advisor.

Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, at no time will the BGB show its face, it will show its chest. The BGB has been told that no concession will be made to any kind of tension on the border. The BGB has been given the same instructions according to the tension on the border, and the preparations are also the same.

He said this in response to questions from journalists after the BGB’s assistance program for the self-reliance of those injured in the July-August mass uprising on Sunday evening. He said, if any provocation is actually made, no concession will be made.

Regarding the killings and border tension on the Panchagarh border, he said, ‘We have instructed the BGB to be prepared to deal with any kind of situation. The BGB will always be ready on the border. However, there is no such major tension on the border in that sense.’

He said, ‘I will tell the Bangladeshi citizens across the border that there is no reason to worry. We are always ready to ensure security. Border residents are completely safe.’

When asked what kind of instructions have been given to the BGB, he said, BGB will work on internal and border security. However, I have asked them to reduce internal work and focus on the border.

When asked what instructions you will have for the BGB if India increases border tension, he said, India is one thing, the people of India are another matter. The media, the people, you, we will remedy the tension of the people of India. There are such instructions, such instructions have been given, and the preparations are also the same.
