Tripura hotels are closed for Bangladeshis.

A few days ago, a private hospital in Tripura, India, announced that it would no longer provide medical services to Bangladeshi patients. Now the Tripura Hotel Association has decided that if any tourists from Bangladesh go to Tripura, they will not be allowed to stay in any hotel in that area.

This information was given in a report by the Indian media Hindustan Times on Tuesday.

According to the report, the All Tripura Hotel and Restaurant Association said, “Hotels will not provide rooms for Bangladeshi tourists. Restaurants will not serve any food for them.”

The report further said, “The Hotel Association has been forced to take this strict step in protest against the alleged torture of Hindus in Bangladesh and the insulting of the Indian national flag in Bangladesh.”

In this regard, the association’s secretary Saikat Banerjee said, “In protest against the torture of Hindus in Bangladesh and the unjust arrest of Chinmoy Prabhu, services to Bangladeshi citizens will be closed in all hotels and restaurants in the state. However, those who are already taking hotel services will be allowed to stay. Others will not be provided services.’

In this context, the president of the Hotel Association said, ‘We welcome Bangladeshi citizens and are always interested in providing hotel services to them. However, recent incidents have become a cause for concern for us. This step has been taken respecting security and regulations.’

Earlier, the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office in Agartala, Tripura, India was attacked and vandalized. The attack was carried out on Monday by leaders and activists of several Hindutva organizations.

According to the details of the incident, they first held a protest rally in front of the Gandhi statue located in the Circuit House in Agartala. Later, a delegation of six people from the protest rally went to the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission and submitted a memorandum. At one point, members of the organization entered the Assistant High Commission and demolished various parts of the establishment. At that time, members of the police responsible for security stopped the extremists. When the situation did not come under control, CRPF members were deployed.

Witnesses said that at that time, a clash broke out between the security forces and the attackers. This spread panic throughout the Assistant High Commission office.
