Names of 14 hospitals including Sheikh Hasina Burn were changed
The Ministry of Health has changed the name of 14 medical, dental colleges and hospitals including the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka.
This information was informed in a notification signed by MA Akmal Hossain Azad, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Health. It is said that 14 hospitals at national and district level have been renamed.
The names of the hospitals which have been changed in the notification are Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka to National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital, Sheikh Fazilatunnecha Mujib Chakshu in Gopalganj. The name of the Hospital and Training Institute has been changed to Gopalganj Eye Hospital and Training Institute, Sheikh Hasina Medical College in Tangail has been renamed as Tangail Medical College.
Dhaka’s Sheikh Russell National Gastroliver Institute and Hospital changed its name to National Gastroliver Institute, Gopalganj Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Dental College Hospital changed its name to Gopalganj Dental College Hospital, Sheikh Saira Khatun Medical College Hospital in Gopalganj to Gopalganj Medical College and Hospital, Sheikh Saira Khatun Trauma Center in Gopalganj. Gopalganj Trauma Center, Sirajganj 250 bedded Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital has been renamed as Sirajganj 250 bedded General Hospital, Jamalpur Sheikh Hasina Medical College Hospital has been renamed as Jamalpur Medical College Hospital.
Khulna Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital, Khulna Specialized Hospital, Bangabandhu (Daldia) Union Health Sub-centre of Katiyadi, Kishoreganj, Daldia Union Health Sub-centre, Katiyadi, Kishoreganj, Colonel Malek Medical College Hospital, Manikganj, Manikganj Medical College Hospital and Dinajpur M. Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital has been renamed as Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
The notification also said that this order issued in public interest will be effective immediately.
Earlier on October 31, the government had issued a notification renaming 6 medical colleges.
