Road blockade is going on in Khagrachari
A morning-evening road blockade program is going on in Khagrachari to protest the killing of three workers of the United Peoples Democratic Front (UPDF). Today Thursday due to the blockade Dhaka, Chittagong and other long distance vehicles are stopped.
It can be seen on the ground that no vehicle is running on the inter-district and internal roads. However, light traffic is seen in cities and suburbs. Besides, the passenger night buses from different places including Dhaka enter Khagrachari under police guard.
Meanwhile, picketing in support of the blockade was reported in several places in the district. However, no untoward incident has occurred yet. Security has been beefed up in key areas.
It is to be noted that 3 UPDF workers were killed by miscreants in Panchari of the district on Wednesday morning. In protest against the murder, the organization called for morning-evening road blockade in Khagrachari district today.
