AFM Syed, the then officer-in-charge (OC) of the Ashulia police station, was arrested after 46 people were shot dead during the student movement in Ashulia and the ‘mastermind’ of the burning of the bodies has been arrested.
Yesterday Wednesday night, he was arrested from Cox’s Bazar and brought to Dhaka. Currently Syed is kept in Shahbag police station.
Syed will be produced before the International Tribunal on Thursday. There was an arrest warrant against him.
It is known that this police officer had been hiding for a long time in fear of arrest. He was known as a close friend of former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. Even though he resorted to various tricks and tricks to avoid his own responsibility in Ashulia’s incident, he was not saved in the end.
