Rail communication with Khulna has been stopped
Due to the derailment of eight tankers of an oil train at Jeevannagar in Chuadanga, rail communication with Khulna has been stopped across the country.
The accident took place at point number 11 of Ancharbaria railway station of the upazila at around one o’clock in the morning on Tuesday.
It is known that due to the train accident, the Chitra and Shimand Express trains bound for Khulna are stuck. Because of this, hundreds of passengers of the two trains suffered greatly.
In this regard, Uthli Railway Station Master Mintu Kumar Roy said, ‘Ancharbaria railway station is a closed down station. There is no station master. At night the oil train was going towards Khulna. However, eight coaches derailed when the train reached point 11 of the down signal of Ansharbaria railway station. As a result, rail communication with Khulna was stopped across the country.
The rescue relief train came to rescue the coach of the oil train. This station master also said that efforts are being made to normalize train movement.
