Former expatriate welfare minister Imran has been arrested
Foreign Employment and Former expatriate welfare Minister Imran Ahmed has been arrested by the police. Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (DB) Police arrested him from Banani on Sunday night.
Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed this information around 1:30 am.
He said that former expatriate welfare and foreign employment minister Imran Ahmed was arrested from Banani last night by DB police. There are several cases against him. After the arrest, he was taken to the DB office.
It should be noted that Imran was elected as a member of parliament from Sylhet-4 constituency as a candidate of Bangladesh Awami League in the third parliamentary election of 1983. He was elected Member of Parliament in 1991 5th National Parliament Election, September 1996 by-election, 2014 Tenth National Parliament Election and 2018 Eleventh National Parliament Election.
