Local and BRUR students clash over eve teasing, 4 injured
4 students of Begum Rokeya University of Rangpur (Berobi) were injured in an attack by outsiders after they protested against the eve-teasing of a student of journalism department. Two people were arrested in this incident.
When the student and her classmates entered the campus around 9 pm last Tuesday, some outsiders misbehaved. When the girl’s classmates protested the incident, the outsiders attacked them. Four students were injured in their attack.
The injured students are Abdullah Al Mamun of 12th batch of Journalism department, Deepta Talukdar and Shanta of 14th batch and Hajimul Haque of 13th batch. The arrested are Mizan and Babu. Their homes are in Babukha and Chawkbazar areas.
In this regard, University Proctor Ferdous said, legal action will be taken after the interrogation of the detainees.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shaukat Ali said, from today no outsider will be able to enter the campus. Ansars in charge have been instructed to prevent outsiders from entering the campus.
