Ratan Tata is no more
Ratan Tata, chairman emeritus of India’s largest conglomerate Tata Group, has died. Indian media reported that he died while undergoing treatment in a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday. He was 86 years old.
Ratan Tata’s great-grandfather founded the conglomerate more than 100 years ago. Until 2012, Ratan Tata served as the chairman of the company. This $100 billion company has businesses ranging from steel to software.
He was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday, the Times of India reported. Tata Group confirmed his death last night.
