ICMAB organized a Reception Program to honor Past President of ICMAB, Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA, appointment as the Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR).

The event took place on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the CMA Bhaban, CDA Avenue, Agrabad, Chattogram. The program commenced with a welcome speech by Mr. Pradip Paul FCA, FCMA, the honorable Chairman of CBC. Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA was greeted with a bouquet of flowers as a gesture of honor for his new appointment. During the interactive session, fellows and associate members residing in the Chattogram region raised various professional concerns, to which the NBR Chairman assured prompt resolutions. He also discussed the expansion and acceleration of the National Board of Revenue’s operations and the tax net, requesting the support of professional accountants in these efforts. Furthermore, Mr. Khan encouraged participation in building a new Bangladesh and urged everyone to contribute from their respective roles. He expressed his gratitude for being able to attend the event and thanked CBC for organizing such an august gathering.

A significant number of senior Fellows and Associate members from the Chattogram region attended and actively participated in the event. The program was moderated by CBC Secretary, Mr. Md. Rakibul Islam Mayshan FCMA, and concluded with a vote of thanks from CBC Treasurer, Mr. Md. Rizwan Hassan FCMA.
