    Zelensky expressed regret

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed regret for the recent spat with US President Donald Trump at the White House. At the same time, he indicated that Ukraine is ready to move forward on the path that the United States wants to take to end the war with Russia.

Zelensky explained his position in a long post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. This information was reported by several international media outlets, including the BBC and NDTV.

According to the report, this was Zelensky’s first official response after the United States announced the suspension of all aid to Ukraine. However, he did not directly mention this in his post.

Zelensky said, “I want to reiterate Ukraine’s commitment to peace. None of us want to continue the war forever. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to establish a sustainable peace.”

He also said, “My team and I are ready to work under the strong leadership of President Trump to end the war. We want to end this conflict quickly.’

Zelensky also commented on the possible first phase of the ceasefire. He said, ‘The first phase could include the release of prisoners, a halt to the flights of missiles and drones in the sky. In addition, attacks on energy and other civilian infrastructure must stop. If Russia agrees, a ceasefire could also be at sea.’

He added, ‘After the first phase, we want to quickly move on to the next phase and work with the United States to reach a strong final agreement.’

Zelensky also expressed gratitude to the United States for helping Ukraine in its war against Russia. Praising President Trump, he said, ‘We really value what the United States has done to preserve our sovereignty and independence. We remember the moment when President Trump gave Ukraine Javelin missiles, which changed the situation. We are grateful for this.’

Regretting the recent spat with Trump, Zelensky said, ‘Our meeting at the White House last Friday did not go as planned. It is a pity that this happened. Now is the time to fix things. We want cooperation and communication to be more constructive in the future.’

In addition, the Ukrainian president also said that Ukraine is ready to sign a mineral resources agreement with the United States at any time. According to him, this would be a big step towards bringing lasting peace to Ukraine.
