Youth stabbed to death for stopping him from consuming marijuana

A youth named Titu Mandal (20) was stabbed to death for stopping him from consuming marijuana in Shalikha upazila of Magura. Four others were seriously injured in the incident. The incident took place on the banks of the Phatki river in Gajdurba village of Dhaneshwargati union of the upazila around 11 pm last Thursday (January 1).
Police and local sources said that on the banks of the Phatki river around 11 pm last Thursday, Sahim (20), son of Liton Musalli of Balai Nagasa village of Shalikha upazila, Ratul (22), son of Sameer, and another unidentified person were sitting on the banks of the Phatki river and consuming marijuana. At that time, Titu Mandal, Dollar Mandal, Labib Mandal, Shakil and Fahim of Gajdurba village passed by and forbade them from consuming marijuana at that place.
Enraged, the main accused Sahim, among the drunkards, started randomly attacking them with the knife he had. Five people, including Titu Mandal, were seriously injured. Hearing their screams, local people rushed to the spot and caught Sahim red-handed.
