Youth shot while standing on building’s cornice in Rampura, complaint filed
Formal charges have been filed against five accused in a case of crimes against humanity filed in the killing of two people, including Amir Hossain, who was hanging from a roof cornice in the capital’s Rampura during the July-August movement. On Thursday (August 7), Prosecutor Faruk Ahmed filed the charge on behalf of the prosecution at the International Crimes Tribunal-1. Prosecutor Saimum Reza Talukder was with him at the time. The accused are former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, former ADC of Khilgaon Zone Md. Rashedul Islam, former OC of Rampura Police Station Md. Mashiur Rahman, former ASI of Rampura Police Outpost Chanchal Chandra Sarkar and former SI of Rampura Police Station Tariqul Islam Bhuiyan. On July 31, the investigation agency officials submitted the investigation report of the case to the Chief Prosecutor’s Office. Earlier, the tribunal had directed to submit the investigation report within two months. On July 14, a three-member judicial panel led by International Crimes Tribunal-1 Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder gave this order. Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim heard the case in court on behalf of the prosecution that day.
