Youth dies after being electrocuted in rainwater in Bangshal
A youth named Amin Hossain (30) died after falling into rainwater on the road while riding a bicycle in the Nazira Bazar area of Bangshal in the capital. The incident took place at around 9:15 am today, Monday (September 22).
Amin Hossain was an employee of a bakery shop. He is the son of Badsha Akan of Tel Sani village under Pirojpur Bhandaria police station. He lived in the current BDR Gate No. 1 area.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bangshal police station Sajal Roy confirmed the matter. He said that Amin fell into the rainwater in front of Kazi Alauddin Road, Jamai Gali, Kazi Alauddin Road and became unconscious. Perhaps a torn wire was lying there. Later, locals rescued him from the water with bamboo. He was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital at around 9:45 am, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
SI Sajal Roy said the body has been kept in the hospital morgue and the exact cause of death will be known only after receiving the autopsy report. The deceased’s brother-in-law, Suman Mia, said, “Amin was a bakery worker by profession. In the morning, he went out on a bicycle to deliver bakery goods. Later, he met with an accident in the Bangshal area. After receiving the news, I came to the hospital and found him dead.” Amin was married a month ago. Suman Mia also said that his family lives in the village.
