Youth Dal activist murder: Former state minister Shamsul Alam in jail

The court has sent former state minister for planning Shamsul Alam to jail after showing his arrest in the case of youth activist Shamim’s murder.

The judge gave this order at the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court in Dhaka on Thursday (June 19) afternoon.

Earlier, the police presented him to the court and requested to show his arrest in the case filed in the case of Shamim’s murder at a BNP rally in Paltan on October 28, 2023. And Shamsul Alam’s lawyer applied for bail. After the hearing, the judge ordered him to be sent to jail.

Earlier, the police arrested the former state minister from Mohammadpur area on Wednesday night.
