Youth beaten to death on rape charges

A night watchman named Abu Hanif (30) was beaten to death on charges of raping a child (11) in Khanpur Main Road area of ​​Narayanganj city. The incident took place on Monday (October 20) afternoon.
Narayanganj Sadar Police Station OC Nasir Ahmed told us, initially as far as we know, the deceased’s name is Abu Hanif. He is a night watchman of Itu Villa on Khanpur Main Road. He raped the child of a garment worker who was a tenant of that building by threatening him multiple times. The child told his mother about the matter on Sunday night. On Monday afternoon, his mother informed the locals about the incident.
The OC said, after learning about the incident, some locals caught him and brought him to Khanpur Jora Tanki area. Later, they beat him to death. However, our officials are investigating to know the details of the incident. Details will be known later.
Mohammad Ibrahim, the husband of the deceased’s sister Rabeya Begum, said that at 1:30 pm last Monday, Abhi, the son of the owner of Azim Villa in Khanpur, came to their house. He came and abused his wife Rabeya Begum in foul language. Later, he caught Ibrahim and took him under the Khanpur twin tank. When Ibrahim went there, he saw his brother-in-law Abu Hanif being held captive. Abhi’s men were slapping him. They were trying to remove his lungi and strip him naked. At one point, they took Abu Hanif to another place in an auto-rickshaw. At night, they received news that someone had dumped Abu Hanif’s body at Khanpur Hospital. He said that Abu Hanif’s father’s name is Abul Kalam. His village home is in Khunta Kata village in Khulna Sadar. In Narayanganj, he lived in Itu Villa in Khanpur. His wife lives in the village home with two daughters and a son. Abul Kalam, the deceased’s father, said in tears in the hospital premises, “If my son commits a crime, I will punish him according to the law. But why did he get away with it? I want justice.”
