Youth arrested in Ramganj mother-daughter murder case

Police have arrested a youth named Sohel Rana (31) on charges of slitting the throat of a mother (Julekha Begum, 54) and daughter (Tanha Akhter Meem, 19) in Ramganj, Lakshmipur.
He was arrested last Friday (October 10) night. Sohel Rana is a relative of the deceased. He is the son of Mozammel Hossain Bahar of the same house.
Ramganj Police Station OC Abdul Bari confirmed the arrest. The OC said that Sohel Rana has been arrested for questioning.
Meanwhile, deceased Julekha’s husband, businessman Mizanur Rahman, filed a murder case with Ramganj Police Station last Friday night. Unknown persons have been accused in it. Earlier, the autopsy of the deceased was completed at the District Sadar Hospital. The burial was held at the family graveyard in the afternoon.
It is worth mentioning that miscreants killed Julekha Begum and her daughter, a college student, Tanha Akhter Meem, in Ichapur village of Chandipur union of Ramganj upazila between 9 pm and 9 am last Thursday. Their bodies were found in a room on the second floor of the house. No one else was home at the time of the incident. Mizanur Rahman was at his business establishment in Sonapur Bazar of Ramganj town with his son Farhad.
