Worker dies after being electrocuted at fish project in Kachua
The body of a worker named Alamgir Hossain (45) has been recovered from the Kachua fish project of Chandpur Municipality. Locals recovered his body at around 11:30 pm on Saturday (April 4). The deceased Alamgir Hossain is the son of Mohiuddin of Nijmehar village in neighboring Shahrasti upazila. He had been living in Kachua village for 20 years and worked as a laborer at the fish project of local Md. Masud.
It is learned that Alamgir Hossain went to look after the project as usual last night. At that time, he saw some dead fish floating in the enclosure and went down to pick them up from the water. But the water in the enclosure was electrified as he came in contact with the wires of the already torn electric line. As soon as he got into the water, he got electrocuted and died on the spot.
On receiving the information, the Kachua police station reached the spot, recovered the body and brought it to the police station. According to family sources, after the death of Alamgir Hossain’s first wife, he married Kulsum, daughter of Ayub Ali of Karish village. At the time of his death, he left behind numerous fans, including an 18-year-old son and a seven-year-old daughter. Kachua Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Borhanuddin said that after receiving information, the police recovered the body. A sudden death (UD) case has been filed at Kachua Police Station in this incident.
