Wife dies after being hit by tractor in Panchagarh, husband injured

A newlywed named Khurshid Jahan Khushi (22) died after being hit by a stone-laden tractor in Tentulia, Panchagarh. Her husband Anwar Hossain (32) was injured in the incident. The accident occurred on the Panchagarh-Tentulia road in the bus stand area of ​​Bhajanpur Union of the upazila on Sunday (July 6) afternoon. The deceased newlywed Khushi’s husband Anwar Hossain lives in the Khatiagach area of ​​Debangad Union of the upazila. He works in a private organization in Dhaka. According to sources from Tentulia Highway Police Station and locals, Anwar Hossain got married in the Munigach area of ​​Shalbahan Union of the upazila two days after the last Eid-ul-Adha. He was returning from his in-laws’ house with his wife Khurshid Jahan Khushi on Sunday afternoon. Later, when they reached the Bhajanpur Union bus stand area of ​​the upazila, a stone-laden tractor coming from the opposite direction hit them. At that time, they fell on the Panchagarh-Tetulia highway. As a result, the rear wheel of the tractor ran over the body of Khurshid Jahan Khushi. He was seriously injured. However, her husband Anwar Hossain was slightly injured. They were rescued and first taken to Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital. Later, after giving first aid to husband Anwar Hossain, his wife Khushi was shifted to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital. Khushi later died in Debiganj Upazila area. Meanwhile, the driver fled with the stone-laden tractor immediately after the incident. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tentulia Highway Police Station Debashish Roy confirmed the death of a newlywed in the road accident and said that the body of the deceased has been post-mortem and handed over to the family members. A statement has been filed on behalf of the family of the deceased in this incident.
